What are Bonus Tiles?

Bonus Tile - A Bonus Tile is a letter tile with additional special effects. Some of them are earned by making words, and others are available with gold.

2x (Double Word Score) - The 2X Bonus Tile will appear on your board on the last letter of a 4-letter word. The 1st effect appears when used in a word  which doubles the value, and blows up tiles adjacent to the 2X tile in a cross pattern (the letters above, below, and to the sides.) The 2nd effect of this bonus tile appears when it is cleared by other effects and blows ups adjacent tiles.

x3 (Triple Word Score) - The 3X Bonus Tile will appear on your board on the last letter of 5 and 8-letter words. The 1st effect appears when used in a word which triples the value, and blows up all tiles adjacent to the 3X tile (the letters immediately above, below, and diagonally adjacent.) The 2nd effect of this bonus tile appears when it is clear by other effects and activates and clears entire row OR column.

Line Clearing OR Row/Column Clear tile -  The Line Clearing/Row or Column bonus tile will appear on your board on the last letter of a 6-letter word with a 50% chance to be horizontal and 50% chance to be vertical.

The 1st effect is used in a word which triples the value or the word, and clears all tile in the same row/column.

This multi- directional line clearing bonus tile can often be used to meet your goal as an objective in the game on many levels. When used or when cleared by other bonus tile effects, the 2nd effect then can appear and then activates and clears the entire row OR column.
